( he takes the glass and lifts it in thanks before taking a few slow sips. )

I think it might take a little more rain to do that for me. ( because he's got a lot resting on his shoulders. he sighs. ) But let's not talk about that. Show me around.

( They'll circle back. She takes a slow sip herself before starting her tour. )

It's two floors with an upstairs bar area and lounge area. The walls are high enough down here that we could maybe turn it into a library? The kitchen is on the lower level but there's a back staircase. And two accessible staircases for the customers to use.

Good space.

( his tone is even but he's interested. he runs his hands along one of the walls, feeling the material and sturdiness. )

Damon would hate having a library in a bar which is why the idea's perfect.

[rehashing]

My thoughts exactly. A little of me, a lot of you and just the right touch of Damon.

( she leads him to the spiral staircase in the one corner. )

Do you want to go up?

A lot of me?

( shouldn't be half her, half him, and a little damon? but he's not going to argue that fiercely. or at all. )

Yeah, let's go up. Things look pretty good condition wise. But, let me see the rest.

[rehashing]

You have more experience around decades of bars.

( Is... she calling him a lush? Maybe Lexi. Definitely Lexi. )

All I have is, the Mystic Grill, Whittemore's on campus bar and every bar I try and forget on my no-humanity tour down the East Coast with Rebekah.

( She leads them upstairs. )

So. We could -- put more seating here? So it's not just open space up to the bar, unless you think maybe it could be a dance floor? The upstairs bathrooms are back there... and down that hallway, the regular stairs and... ( She turns. ) The back staircase. For staff?

You don't want to do too much with the space. A dance floor, a bar, a library thing, seating and a dance floor might be too much.

( he doesn't know if it really jives with the whole idea either. )

Do you want dancing?

[rehashing]

Maybe only if people want to dance? No real designated space, but make sure there's always good music going if a group of townie coeds wander in and drink too much. ( She completely sees where Stefan is coming from. ) That leaves it up to them.

( he nods before taking another look around. )

How do you think you'll get the books?

( for the library portion of things. )

[rehashing]

Katherine's importing from - wherever anyone gets anything. I can do some research, put orders in. And see if the library is getting rid of anything else. If all else fails, I could try out the Blessings Basket, because that couldn't possibly bring with it any consequences...

You're working with Katherine?

( huh. )

How's that going?

[rehashing]

No. She's working for herself. She has an Apothecary. I only know because someone was looking for her on the Fluid and I saw the sign. But, she has a shop's worth of product. It has to come from somewhere. Maybe you could ask?

[prescind]

You want me to ask?

( he hasn't actually been to katherine's shop yet so...maybe he could. he shrugs. )

Yeah, I can talk to her. I don't think she hates me after everything.

[rehashing]

Do you expect us to hate you, Stefan? Because, I couldn't.

[prescind]

Yeah, I know.

( she won't hate him and neither does katherine. but it's still something he thinks should happen. )

But, I've talked to you both and I know you don't hate me. So, I'll talk to Katherine. This'll give me an excuse to see her shop anyway.

[rehashing]

From what I could see through the Fluid, it's nice. Her cat's there, too.

( Her cat really likes her. )

I think we could make this place something. Give people a port in the storm. Maybe - enlist someone to spell it? Or, to try? We've never tried something like that. Maybe this way, people wouldn't be attempting to perform surgery on themselves or - die. But, magic isn't reliable here either, though, so. It could be a pipe dream.

It's something to look into. I know a few magical type people but I wouldn't want to make this place unsafe or anything what with how magic is.

( but it was still something to consider. )

If you want my help, I'd like to help.

[rehashing]

I want your help.

( She doesn't even have to consider it. She'd love his help, even. )

Okay.

( there's really no reason for him to say no, is there? she needs help and he likes the idea and he's got time to provide her help so. )

I'll help you.

[rehashing]

I accept, Mr. Salvatore.

( She smiles to herself. )

You know, it's not just about you helping me, or - making Damon proud. I want this to be half yours. We're helping each other. It's going to be ours. Is that okay?

[prescind]

It's fine.

( give him a little time, elena, and he'll be better about this. everything's still pretty fresh. )

But I do want to help you. I can't sit inside my house all day and drink. I don't think you'd let me. But yeah, it's okay.

[rehashing]

I wouldn't.

( Reaching into her bag, she pulls out a jingling set of keys and sets them down in front of Stefan. )

The silver one opens the back door, gold - the front. ( They'll get more as they need them, she figures. )

Thanks.

( his eyes flick down to the keys and, after a moment, he reaches down and picks them up. )

I'll come back later and check the place out more thoroughly.

[rehashing]

Okay. And I'll help with whatever, too. When I'm not taking classes or studying with Vasily. - He's like Jo, but Russian and serious. ( She makes a mock-serious face, bringing her voice an octive down. ) We've got this.

( he doesn't know if he's as confident as she is but he's trying and he's willing to keep trying. )

It's fine. I can do some stuff around here on my own. And if I need help, I'll let you know.
